Thanksgiving Feast '09

I organized Thanksgiving again this year. It turned out to be quite the feast. There were 20 of us in total (including the kids). The food was delicious and the company of friends was fun as always.
Although, I'm a little dissapointed in the boys...they didn't gobble up nearly as much as I thought they would. Oh well, what's Thanksgiving without leftovers?

Plymouth: The Birthplace of Thanksgiving

This weekend we decided to take a little trip to the 17th century... (of all the places, right?)

More specifically...Plymouth, MA.

Plimoth Plantation was supposed to bring the past alive by seeing:

the Wampanoag Indian Village
(these were the natives who the pilgram/english colonists had close ties with)

the 1627 English Village

The village overlooking the ocean...it was beautiful! I imagined that this was the place where the "pilgrim and indians" sat and ate Thanksgiving Dinner.

The Mayflower

Plymouth Rock

(yup, that's all there it was. a rock.)

What a fun little trip that was, especially considering the time of year it is and that Plymouth was the birthplace of Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to all this weekend!!

{New Moon}

We've been looking forward to this for a looong time, and finally the time arrived!

Off to the theatre we went to watch New Moon!

A few of us even wore vampire shirts...

Mine says "I'm in love with a fictional vampire..." It should have said, "I ditched my husband on our anniversary..." because I had taken a 3 day weekend from work so that we could go somewhere for our anniversary, but I forgot that New Moon came out this same weekend. So...that 3 day weekend got cut short. sorry, hunny. :( hehehe

Anyway, the movie was GREAT---so much better than Twilight. My favorite part: Jacob. I think Bella's got her priorities mixed up. woofta. :)

4th Anniversary...

And they said we'd never make it! HA! ...okay, so no one ever said that. But if they had, we've at least proven them wrong for 4 years!! (and will continue to do so, I might add...)

I put a little anniversary post on my love blog... and I didn't want to repeat myself. So here you go.

Check THIS out.

Job Perks

I just had to share a few perks of my job that have landed in my path the past little while... just a few little things that have made me happy!
{ Perk No. 1 }
One of my clients works for the Givenchy perfume line. After they moved in, they brought me a bottle of "Very Irresistible" ... Nice, right?

{ Perk No. 2 }
Second, another client works for JIVE Records and is always bringing us the latest CDs that JIVE puts out and sometimes tickets to local concerts (like the Americon Idol tour)...

Well, she knows my liking for David Archuleta (and his record label is JIVE). So, his Christmas CD recently came out and while he was out in Boston, he was working with this client of mine.... She had him autograph his CD for me... (and yes, the "To Cher" was written by him...) How cool is that?! Ya, I felt like a 14 year old giddy girl...so what.

{ Perk No. 3 }
Another client of mine is the Thai Chef at the Kowloon Restaurant nearby. He invited Michael and I to come by sometime so he could make us Thai Food. I wasn't so sure about the thai food (they serve American food there too....so I was hoping for that). But Michael was willing to give it a shot. Well, we showed up one evening and he wasn't even working that night but was there. He sat us down in a really nice part of the restaurant and ordered us a bunch of nice appetizers and then ordered us some Thai Food. Our table was LOADED with food....you'd think this was a feast for 20! Oh my gosh, it was delicious. I was so surprised how much I liked it... Of course, he didn't charge us a penny. When we thanked him, he said, "She took such good care of me when I moved in...she was so nice to me." aww...that made me feel good.

I really wanted to remember those nice guestures....And my blog is my journal, so here's to remembering some really nice people who I've been lucky to work with.

Halloween Recap

This year, Halloween was spent with 8 other couples playing "Halloween Survivor" -- such fun planned by Ryan & Meagan!

Michael dressed as Michael Scott from "The Office" -- he made a costume that was just like Michael Scott's Halloween costume on the show. Everyone got a kick out of it... (and he won Best Costume!)

I dressed as "Flo" the Progressive Insurance lady... (and I won Most Original costume)

Here are the rest of the group's costumes...

We played a series of "survivor challenges"...some involving running around the building like crazy people, throwing little parachute men over the lobby balcony, and more.

Ultimately, Michael and I didn't survive Halloween Survivor.
Ashlee was the last woman standing! It was alot of fun, though.

A couple of my friends brought their kiddos over before the party to trick or treat at my house.

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween! (And Michael says..."make sure to brush your teeth after all that sugar!!")
